Animorphs: The Invasion

Animorphs: The Invasion is the first book of the Animorphs, a great series.

The Invasion is a great book because of its suspense and cliff endings. At the beginning of the book, five people: Tobias, Rachel Cassie, Marco, and Jake cut through construction site and see a “UFO” driven by Andalite, an alien: Elfangor. He gives the five kids the power to morph or change into other animals in hopes that they will use these powers to fight a hostile alien species, the Yeerks.

The Yeerks are simply worms, except for the fact that they can control your very selves if they get into your brain. The five people escape from the Yeerks, but Elfangor is killed. After some investigation, Jake, the leader of the “Animorphs” finds out that his own brother is controlled by a yeerk and the vice principle too. Then, after sneaking in his school in the shape of a lizard, he finds out that the Yeerk pool, a place that yeerks must go to every three days or they will die, is under Jake’s school! After sharing this news to the other Animorphs, they plan to rescue as much people as they can in a surprise attack.

On the day of the attack, they sneak in, only to find that Cassie has been captured. After they rescue Cassie, they get attacked by all the yeerk controlled people and Tobias is not in sight. Then they meet Visser Three, the only Yeerk-controlled Andalite. As Jake fights Visser Three in his tiger form, the others rescue a few people and escape, but Visser Three kills all escapees except or one and Jake escapes. When they arrive home, they find out that Tobias is trapped since he was in morph for more than two hours. A great book for it’s action and suspense.
