The Mystery of the Cupboard

The Mystery of the Cupboard is the fourth book of the Indian in the Cupboard Series. I think that this is one of the best books in the series, though that the second book (The Return of the Indian) is the best in the series.

The main characters in this book were Omri and Patrick. The main idea of this book is that there is a magic key and cupboard (shelf) that can turn plastic things or toys into real life. The cupboard does this. The key’s powers is that it can open any lock and that it has a mysterious (unknown) power. My favorite character in this book was Omri because he was a nice kid who tries to do the right thing. He always did what he thought would help, but sometimes got himself in trouble. My favorite part was when Omri brought Jessica to life. When Omri brought her to life, she was a bit surprised that she was so small, but soon she got over her surprise and, overcoming her fears, she does an opera song for Patrick and Omri, which she is good at. Omri’s brothers go inside the room to find out what is causing all the racket, and Patrick makes a lie and says that it was him. I liked this part because Patricks lie was that it was him so to prove it, he sang in a high voice. I could almost imagine this and it was REALLY funny!

I would recommend this book for people who like adventure, magic, and historical fiction. A great read for all ages!
